According to the requirements set out by the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) all workplace lifting equipment should undergo regular, documented thorough examinations by a competent person. Our LOLER inspections ensure your gear is safe to operate. and meets statutory and insurance requirements. At Bell’s Inspections of our technicians are LEEA certified and highly experienced.

✓ Thorough visual & physical examinations: Checking for wear, structural distortion, fatigue, corrosion, or mechanical damage on all critical load-bearing components.
✓ Detailed safety function checks: Ensuring all safety catches, brakes, and limit switches operate perfectly under standard conditions.
✓ SWL & marking verification: Confirming that Safe Working Loads (SWL) and unique identification marks are clearly visible and legible.
✓ Compliant load testing services: Carrying out essential proof-load testing following a major repair, structural alteration, or as required by specific equipment guidelines to physically verify structural integrity and ensure the equipment safely holds its rated capacity.
✓ Minor repairs & adjustments: Tightening loose components, replacing minor missing hardware, or making small adjustments on site.
✓ Clear, compliant report of thorough examination: Providing you with an easy-to-read, legally sound digital report within the required 6 or 12-month intervals to satisfy both the HSE and your insurers.
Maximum time periods between inspections are as follows:
• Lifting accessories: 6 months
• Equipment used for lifting people: 6 months
• All other lifting equipment: 12 months
