Ensuring Safety when Working at Height
Working at height carries the highest risk in the workplace, making regular maintenance and testing by a competent person extremely important. These services are made sure to satisfy Work at Height Regulations 2005 and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). At Bell’s Inspections all of our technicians are competent in the use and certification of this equipment.

✓ Thorough visual & structural examinations: Inspecting stiles for bends, twists, cracks, or corrosion, and checking every rung to ensure it is secure, unbent, and free from wear.
✓ Feet & anti-slip checks: Examining rubber or plastic feet for excessive wear, splits, or missing components to prevent slipping and ensure stable ground contact.
✓ Hardware & locking mechanism tests: Testing extension ropes, pulleys, hinges, locking bars, and safety catches to make sure they operate smoothly and lock securely into place.
✓ Minor remedial fixes: If a ladder requires replacement rubber feet, a new identification tag, or a minor hardware adjustment on-the-spot, we handle it to keep your equipment compliant immediately.
✓ Certification & asset register: Labeling every ladder clearly with inspection dates and providing a full, transparent digital asset register and certificate for your health and safety compliance logs.
Recommended time frames between inspections are as follows:
• Visual and structural examination: 6-12 months
